The Menagerie

Life is full of the unexpected, the unknown. I wanted to express this by creating a cast of odd characters defying the norm of what we expect life to be. An elephant frog doesn’t exist in external reality, but perhaps it lives in a life not seen, just as we don’t see the complete inner reality of our own existence. Within each painting lives a drama of creatures in an unknown world of abstraction. You can choose to see these figures as whimsical and playful or in psychological terms. 

 Sometimes an elephant frog is just an elephant frog. Other times, it may have a far deeper meaning that only you create.
